The Benue State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has warned against the imposition of illegal levies by some secondary school principals.

According to the State Commissioner for the Ministry, Professor Dennis Tyavyar, he had received reports that some principals were engaged in the act of collecting various amounts of monies for NECO and WAEC exam numbers from unsuspecting students; an act which is illegal.

He therefore warned that any principals or persons engaging in such acts should desist forthwith and requested parents/guardians to report any of such incidents henceforth to the Ministry even as Government seriously frowns at this development.
